 In memory of Jonathan Nelson (1920-2002 m1939), son of a Cumbrian coalminer, the first of his family to attend a university, who inspired his sons, Peter and Richard, to follow him.  

 Warm wishes from Quebec City--and splendid memories of 1969-72 at Christ's. 

 I remember Christ's with great affection. My father, John Stainer, was Organ Scholar from 1935-7; his fondness for it was also lifelong. I played oboe in CUMS, sang in the College choir - chamber concerts in Hall with friends were very special.
